Why take a retreat?

Taking time for an intentional pause away from your regular routines allows for meaningful restoration. It creates space away from daily demands and distraction, lets your mind settle and reset, reduces stress, opens up time for introspection and self-reflection, and can allow for a deep physical rest.

Your Guides

Michelle and Lonnie are both experienced and certified Yoga and Meditation Teachers, and are deeply connected to the natural world. Michelle is a Mindful Outdoor Guide and leads Forest Bathing experiences. Lonnie is an herbalist, flower essence practitioner, and environmental educator. We are also mothers and business owners, so we understand how busy and stressful life can become. We have dedicated ourselves to guiding people into spaces of deep rest, rejuvenation, self-discovery and healing.

Location

Equinox Botanical Sanctuary is a solar-powered farm and botanical sanctuary in Meigs County, in Southeastern Ohio. The land has been lovingly tended for over 50 years and is the protected home of native medicinals such as American ginseng, goldenseal, and black cohosh. The retreat center has a sheltered yoga deck, an outdoor kitchen and dining area, beautiful swimming pond, waterfall and cave, and hundreds of acres of stewarded forest. The retreat center is accessed by AWD/4WD, and participants will be shuttled from the parking area at the road up the hill to the center. Sustainability and a break from technology is built into the fabric of the retreat center, with an outhouse for restroom, open air kitchen and dining facilities and no wifi.
